Position Title: Logistics Coordinator
Location: Querétaro, Mexico
Job Type: Full Time, Direct Hire
Compensation: Up to $484,800 MXN/Year
About the Role
The Logistics Coordinator oversees the end‑to‑end supply chain for this client's food manufacturing products—including purchasing, transportation, warehousing, and distribution—to ensure safe, timely, and cost‑efficient delivery to multiple sites. You’ll manage inventory levels, plan and optimize delivery routes, and coordinate closely with Sales, Production, and Quality teams to meet customer requirements. The role also manages relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and fleet managers to keep transportation compliant and running smoothly. Regular site visits are required to verify adherence to company policies and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan & Execute Transportation: Build and maintain national rail and land transportation plans; coordinate with carriers and fleet managers to ensure on‑time delivery and service quality.
- Import/Export & Compliance: Oversee import/export documentation, customs clearance, and regulatory compliance; partner with customs brokers and freight forwarders to prevent delays.
- Inventory & Warehousing: Track inventory levels across plants/warehouses; align purchasing and production schedules with distribution capacity.
- Route Optimization: Design and continuously improve route plans that balance service levels, capacity, and cost; monitor KPI performance (on‑time, dwell time, cost/unit, damage rate).
- Data & Reporting: Analyze logistics data to identify trends and opportunities; prepare weekly/monthly reports and dashboards to support strategic decisions.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Production, and Quality to align demand, production, and delivery; coordinate issue resolution and customer communication.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Negotiate rates and service terms; maintain performance scorecards for carriers, brokers, and warehouse partners.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives that reduce logistics cost, improve service reliability, and strengthen safety and compliance practices.
- Site Presence: Conduct regular site visits to validate SOP adherence, inventory accuracy, and operational standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
- Knowledge of national shipping and delivery processes (rail and land).
- Hands‑on experience with import/export processes and customs regulations, plus fleet management and route planning.
- Fluent Spanish and advanced English (reading, writing, speaking).
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of SQF code compliance and Mexican NOM/NMX regulations.
- Background in route optimization and cost‑reduction strategies.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts).
